PMD issues drought warning as rainfall continues to be below average

The Pakistan Meteorological Department cautions that drought may exacerbate situations in the eastern and southern areas. Due to much below-average rainfall nationwide, Pakistan’s Meteorological Department has declared a drought warning, cautioning that conditions may deteriorate in the eastern and southern areas. Nationally, rainfall was 40% below normal from September 1, 2024, through March 21, 2025.
